This is the Jibber Jabber News Wire. It is our online connection with the families that allow us the privilege of spending our days with their children. This newsletter is where we share funny stories and exciting events that take place while your children are in our very unique childcare. We will allow them opportunities that not every child would be allowed to have to explore new things in their world at a young age. We love to watch them investigate and see what happens as they try new experiences and gain so much knowledge. Please take a look and see all of the fun we have been having while we learn and get ready for school.

3...2...1...LIFTOFF!

This week at Jibber Jabber we have been learning all about outer space! The kids have been having a fun time learning all about the planets, astronauts and rockets!

We started our week with outer space paintings! Using special alien paint, we painted tin foil and drew fun designs! We talked about what aliens might look like and even learned to speak alien!

Later in the week, we made alien masks! We danced around the playroom making funny alien sounds!
Along with all of our alien fun we painted planets! Each of the kids got to paint a few planets and we hung them up to make our solar system! Look for it hanging in the playroom!
We have had a lot of fun learning about outer space! We have also enjoyed reading books like "Where the Wild Things Are", "Green Eggs and Ham", and "Goldilocks and the Three Bears!" It's been another awesome week at Jibber Jabber!

Aloha from Jibber Jabber

Last week, we celebrated back to school and luau week! It was a very busy, exciting week for all of our school age friends as they got ready for their first day of school!

We had a fun time with our luau theme! We had hula hoops, beach balls, and luau crafts! The kids had an awesome time making their beautiful leis and wearing them proudly around the house!
Later in the week, we had a fun time sponge painting Hawaiin paper dolls! Landon decided to give his doll "dolphin hair!" We got nice and messy during this project!
Miss Sarah helped our friends make shell bracelets! Although they were difficult, they did not give up and they had the coolest bracelets to wear all day!

We had another exciting week at Jibber Jabber making cool luau crafts and getting messy! Aloha!

Lets build something together...

Recently we had some construction going on here at Jibber Jabber as we added a new living room to the house. It was very exciting seeing all of the construction guys with their BobCat and the crane and cement mixer. The kids just had to try it out in their own way :)
We had a great hammering activity that was intended for a day and ended up taking over a week. They loved it! They just hammered and pulled out the golf tees that we used as nails and started again. We let them go with this until the  Styrofoam board was falling apart. Look how cute they are with their hard hats and hammers :)
We brought in some miniature shovels in different sizes and styles for the kids to dig in our "digging area". We buried some random objects in the yard and let them so that the kids could dig for treasure. They had a ball!
We broke out the tractors, a fork lift and a dump truck to create cool tracks in our paintings. With sound effects and big tractor scoops of paint we made some very cool pictures :)
We built our own marshmallow creations. There were towers and robots and fariswheels. The best imaginations ever play here! I was so proud of all of the different things the kids created. They worked so hard and everyone had great stories to go along with what they made.

We read the story of the three little pigs. Then everyone worked together and we built a brick house (a cardboard box house covered in paper bricks). The kids took turns playing inside as pig and outside of the house as the big bad wolf trying to blow the house down.
Next we built stick houses out of popsicle sticks on construction paper. The kids had so much fun talking about the different features of each others houses. Some had chimneys some had windows or extra doors. It was really fun to see what they came up with and how much they understood about what makes a house. This has really been a fun subject for them to explore! Can't wait to see what they come up with next week...

Sorry for the delay :)

Easter Maddness!

We had so much fun this Easter! We made bunny ears and taught the kids to hop around like bunny rabbits :) We dyed Easter Eggs that the kids got to take home in the Easter baskets that they made themselves. Then on Friday the Easter Bunny himself came and hid Easter Eggs (the plastic kind) for all of the kids to hunt for in the backyard.

There is Foot Painting and then there is our way...

Today we foot painted. Now for some people that means that they dipped each child's foot in some paint and put a few foot prints on some paper. This sound cool. But we had to take it a couple of steps further :) We threw blue, red and yellow paint on the back patio took off our shoes and walked, skipped and jumped all over the concrete patio. The kids loved it so much they kept going for almost an hour. The best part is that we left it there so all the kids could take their parents at the end of the day and show them the creation that we made. I love doing these kinds of activities that kids so rarely get to experience anywhere else.

Dr. Suess Week :)

Dr. Seuss recently had a birthday. In honor of this amazing man we had a week of projects and fun inspired by some of his books. Of course we read the classic The Cat In The Hat
and that lead to the hats you see to your left.
Aren't they all so cute?!?! We read I Wish I Had Duck Feet. Then we all drew pictures of ourselves with a special feature. Some had space helmets, some had butterfly wings but all were super special and fun to make :)

We read 1 Fish, 2 Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. That lead to the creations to the right. We cut out fish bowls and painted them with
colored corn syrup. This made a fun sticky surface for us to stick
some fish and a snail or two to. We added beans to look like

aquarium rocks and covered it with contact paper to give it that glassy appearance. They were super cute and lots of fun! We also read and embraced Wacky Wednesday. With crazy hair and clothes mismatched and backwards the kids loved this so much it has been requested to do it every week :) We read Horton Hears A Who, then watched the movie and made poof balls with Whos on them. I love Dr. Seuss week, it maybe my favorite week of the year.
