This is the Jibber Jabber News Wire. It is our online connection with the families that allow us the privilege of spending our days with their children. This newsletter is where we share funny stories and exciting events that take place while your children are in our very unique childcare. We will allow them opportunities that not every child would be allowed to have to explore new things in their world at a young age. We love to watch them investigate and see what happens as they try new experiences and gain so much knowledge. Please take a look and see all of the fun we have been having while we learn and get ready for school.

Mother Goose Has Landed!

It's nursery rhyme time at Jibber Jabber! We've learned some of the classic nursery rhymes this week such as Humpty Dumpty, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Little Miss Muffet, and the Muffin Man! We decided to start our theme with a tasty treat, so with smiles on their faces, the kids gathered around the table to make blueberry muffins!

Sammy teaching the younger kids how to crack an egg!

Everyone gets a turn to mix!

Stirring in those blueberries!

Everyone had so much fun and we must have sang The Muffin Man song 20 times!

Our next craft was learning Humpty Dumpty! We decided since all the king's horses and men couldn't put him back together we would give it a shot!

I say we were successful! Bandages and all!

Another fun craft that we enjoyed was making pictures with some colored egg shells! After dying and drying the shells, the kids were able to pick out some colors they liked and break them apart! They drew beautiful designs with glue and attached shells!

How colorful!

We moved from here onto learning about Little Miss Muffet eating her "curves and waves" as Sammy called them! We decided this would be a fun opportunity to make finger puppets to act out the story!

I'm not scared of that little spider!

Little Miss Muffet running from that mean old spider!

Everyone loves a good hat, right? Well how many hats have you seen with 8 legs coming out of them!
This craft was a real hit and the kids enjoyed learning how to fold their papers to make little legs!

After Little Miss Muffet ran away, we had a chance to talk about Mary and her little lamb!

Using our hand prints, we made the body of a lamb!

We then added our fleece! There was a lot of singing going around this table as we talked about what Mary did and where her little lamb went!

We also used fancy foamy bubbles to make fluffy prints on our little lambs! Everyone was intrigued by the way the bubbles foamed and popped!

After Mary Had a Little Lamb, we moved on to Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star!
After handing out yellow stars and sparkles and glitter, the kids went to work carefully placing each piece of glitter so their stars shone just right!

Our next Twinkle Twinkle activity involved making beautiful blue bottles full of stars! We practiced measuring, counting, and talked about the different colors we were using while we worked and of course we sang Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star!

Measuring the gel!

Pouring the water!

Adding the glitter and stars!
This was by far one of our favorite crafts!

Last but not least, we had some good old fashioned finger painting time! This was a fun activity because as we sang our nursery rhymes we had learned, the kids had a great time drawing the different characters and animals from the stories!

Here's Sammy, working on her masterpiece!

Construction Time!

It's construction time at Jibber Jabber! That means hard hats, hammers and lots of dirt! It's a fun time for everyone! We started the week of with a favorite activity! We hammered golf tees that we used as nails into styrofoam boards! The kids absolutely loved going to the building area for this!
Lilly setting up the construction zone!

Smiles all around and everyone learned a new construction song to sing!

Our next activity was super exciting! All of our construction workers had a chance to get nice and messy!

We started by mixing together a dough of flour, water, and food coloring!

Then we dipped cotton balls in them and baked them!

And finally, WE HAMMERED! The dough made a hard shell around them that was an interesting texture! It was very exciting to watch the cotton balls break open and still be fluffy on the inside!

We really enjoyed making and playing with play dough this week as well! All of the kids wanted to make houses and tractors! They were really into the construction spirit!

Our next activity was painting with tractors! Everyone grabbed a tractor and went to town! We made a lot of fun prints with the wheels!

After that we moved on to creating our own masterpieces out of marshmallows!

Jacob worked hard to create his own caterpillar!

Sammy made herself a beautiful bunny!
Angelina made a car!

Bunny wanted to go for a ride!

They were all very proud of their awesome work!

Finally, we made some Three Little Pig houses and read the story to go with it! We huffed and puffed and built our own houses! They were really focused on making patterns with their sticks!

It was a fun and busy time at Jibber Jabber! Everyone really loved learning about construction!
