This is the Jibber Jabber News Wire. It is our online connection with the families that allow us the privilege of spending our days with their children. This newsletter is where we share funny stories and exciting events that take place while your children are in our very unique childcare. We will allow them opportunities that not every child would be allowed to have to explore new things in their world at a young age. We love to watch them investigate and see what happens as they try new experiences and gain so much knowledge. Please take a look and see all of the fun we have been having while we learn and get ready for school.

Bath time!

The kids decided that we needed to teach the baby dolls how to take baths. So they each went and picked out one doll/ Army man and gave them baths in the infant bath tubs in the backyard. They each got a sponge and some soapy water and went to town scrubbing those toys :) Some had songs and games that they do in their baths at home. It was so funny to watch and they had a blast.

A Day at the Park...

We took a field trip to the park. We had been talking all week about birds and we thought the park would be a good place to see some up close. First, we had to walk all 11 kids to the park. That sounds worse than it really is. We are fortunate enough that we live about 2 blocks from Ridgepoint Elementary and they are nice enough to open their play ground/park area for public use during non school hours.

So off we went with our wagon, our wagon driving volunteers (Sammy and Elijah), the double stroller and the animal chain for the rest to hold onto. Before we got into the bird watching we just wanted to play and have fun with the kids for a while. We went down the slides, even the little babies :) We played hop scotch. We were all over the place. It is not often we all get to go to the park as a group so we were making the best of it!
Then we surprised the kids by handing out the binoculars that they decorated earlier in the week. They were so excited to see them! We showed them that we were taking them over to the field area and the trees to find some birds. They looked all over but were most excited about watching the airplane they saw. I love those kids...

New skills :)

We got some new outside entertainment. We just received the bucket walkers that we ordered. The kids love them. And we love watching them! It is impressive how well they could walk on the right away. They were having stilt races around the bike track. It was hilarious to watch. Then they spent a long while figuring out if the tallest kids were still taller when they all stood on the buckets. So smart these kids, they think of the coolest things :)

Let's see what we can do with SHAVING CREAM...

We played with shaving cream and the kids went CRAZY! Although we play with shaving cream often this time was different. Each of the kids seemed to have their own idea of what they wanted to do with the raspberry scented cream. Sammy decided that it was lotion and covered her entire body in it. Some of the boys discovered that if they got a pile of it in their hands and clapped it would cause an explosion. Others found the piles of cream on the ground after the explosions and took off their shoes so that they could squish the cream between their toes :) Everyone had so much fun and I am glad that I stocked up on shaving cream, because they went for a long time and kept needing refills :) So awsome!

Does anyone have some bread?

We made butter. It was a lot of fun! We put the cream in a container and took turns shaking as hard as we could. Each kid would take a turn shaking and when they were worn out we would open the container to see if the butter was a solid yet. It was really cool, because they could actually see it change from a liquid cream to a solid butter.

Then of course we had to make bread to go with it. So the kids all rolled crescent rolls onto a cookie sheet and we used our butter and had them for snack :)

Story Time :)

With the schoolagers out for the summer and a full house of kids we have decided to embrace help wherever we can find it :) Elijah is practicing his reading this summer to get ready for 1st grade and Bryce needed a little extra attention. So why not kill two birds with one stone? Elijah sat and read book after book to a very captivated Bryce while he kicked back in his swing and enjoyed the stories.
